All YCCAC Transportation Services are cancelled Saturday and Sunday (January 29, 30) due to the major nor’easter set to hit Maine early Saturday morning. A blizzard warning is forecast for the southern Maine coast from 7:00 a.m. Saturday to 6:00 a.m. Sunday.
The National Weather Service in Gray, Maine, reports expected total snow accumulation of between 12 and 16 inches, with winds gusting as high as 55 mph. “Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches and lead to power outages.”
The NWS Urgent Winter Weather Message continues: “Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.”
