YCCAC, Seeds of Hope Share Non-Profit of the Year Award in Saco/Biddeford

York County Community Action Corporation and Seeds of Hope has been named the 2020 Non-Profit of the Year by the Saco/Biddeford Chamber of Commerce. The announcement was made this morning at the Chamber’s Annual Meetings, which, in keeping with CDC COVID-19 Safety Guidelines, was held by video-conference.

YCCAC was selected for its excellence in responding to COVID-19, maintaining services to provide clients and patients with the resources vital to their wellbeing. An article by the Chamber will appear in local papers in the next few days. Here’s a small portion of that post:

The Non-Profit of the Year award was shared this year between two very impactful local organizations that went above and beyond to fulfill their mission and serve their clients during the pandemic. Seeds of Hope Neighborhood Center and York County Community Action Corp. both provide outstanding service and programs in our communities. Seeds of Hope helps people with a needed daily meal, with job placement services, and in so many other ways every day. York County Community Action Corp. provides health, education and human services, including transportation and financial counseling. Both organizations found creative and safe ways to continue to provide their services safely this past year without missing a beat.

There is also a short (30 second) video, created by Carter and then developed further by the Chamber’s video team, which I will post here when it becomes available.

This award belongs to you—every staff member from every program and department. YCCAC works so well because you, each and every one, make it that way!
