We wanted to let you know that although an official obituary has not been made public yet, Mabel Desmarais has passed away. She’s remembered for dedicating 43 years of her life to York County Community Action’s Head Start program. With expertise and compassion, she held a variety of roles in Head Start as a teacher, education coordinator, co-director, and for 22 years was program director of York County Head Start. We appreciate her dedication, guidance and steadfast commitment throughout the years – and think that throughout her time here, we served nearly 14,000 children!
