YCCAC Board President Claudette Dupee, left, and Economic Opportunities Director Meaghan Arzberger, presented Steve Curtis with an Outstanding Service Award.
Steve Curtis, who for the past 20 years has served as Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Site Coordinator at YCCAC’s main office complex in Sanford, was recognized for his outstanding service by the YCCAC Board of Directors at its April meeting. The Board, meeting in the Downs Conference Room at Nasson Health Care, presented Steve with an engraved Jade Glass trophy, the inscription reading:

In Appreciation of Your Years of Outstanding Service and Dedication. Thank You for Truly Making a Difference York County Community Action Corp.
Steve was also awarded the 2022 Teddi Award. Named in honor of Teddi Brunette, a longtime YCCAC staff member who passed away in 2005, the award is given to an individual or organization exemplifying Teddi’s extraordinary spirit and joy in giving to others.
As VITA Site Coordinator, Steve has provided coordination, organization, and supervision for all aspects of our tax prep operation. Steve has trained hundreds of volunteers to assist with tax prep services for thousands of York County residents; his work, directly and indirectly, has resulted in tax savings, tax refunds, and earned income tax credits for countless low to moderate income households throughout our communities.
We all share in thanking Steve for his remarkable work over these many years. We are grateful for his advocacy, his inspiration, and for his friendship.
