As I am sure everyone is aware, there were reports of an active shooter at Sanford High School this morning. It has now been confirmed that this was a hoax. Here is an official posting from the Biddeford and Sanford Public Schools:
Other schools in the area have taken routine safety measures and issued similar statements.
We are all deeply relieved that this was a hoax and not a real incident, and that no one was physically hurt. But as parents, grandparents and community members, there are residual effects and fear that surround this incident. Tragically, this is the world we live in today.
Please let your supervisor know if there is any way we can support your family or you through this incident. And let us all be thankful that everyone is safe.
