Because it will take months for enough vaccine to be produced for people in the United States, Maine is following vaccine priority recommendations from a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
advisory group. The group has developed a phased priority for vaccinations. The first group to be vaccinated—Phase 1a.—includes health care workers and residents of long-term care facilities.
Nasson Health Care staff are among the first group for vaccinations. On Friday, January 8, the heath center wrapped up its second day of administering the first dose—the vaccination is a two-dose regimen—of COVID-19 vaccines to Nasson staff, for a total of 55 doses.
