
Lead Housing Stability Worker
52 Weeks a year; 40 hours per week
The Lead Housing Stability Worker coordinates with the Emergency Rent Assistance (ERA) intake team and the Manager of Outreach Services to connect with low-income individuals and families approved through the ERA process. The position utilizes community resources and coaching needed to resolve immediate or urgent crises, as well as those which promote long-term financial and household stability. This position also supports families who are seeking to achieve long-term stability through the use of a “Pathway Plan” and establishes and maintains linkages between YCCAC’s many programs and services and the communities in which we provide services.
Coordinates Housing Stability Services activities with the ERA intake team. Assists applicants with the ERA program who have been referred to the Housing Stability Services program with obtaining or completing the documentation required by the ERA program for Direct Benefit Funds. Coordinates referrals to Housing Stability Services. Supports participants with goal-setting, assessment, and implementation of a “Pathway Plan” to achieve long-term stability. Provides emergency assistance for basic needs such as utilities, shelter, and food when funds are available. Serves as an advocate when appropriate; assist clients in developing the skills and expertise to advocate on their own behalf.
High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree and/or LSW preferred; experience may be substituted. Must have knowledge of the human service network and systems in York County. The ability to communicate effectively, exercise sound judgment and make efficient decisions required. Excellent organizational skills are required. Must not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website.
